Announcing Averie Mae Williams
We welcomed Averie Mae Williams into the family on February 20, 2011.
To make a long story short we arrived at the hospital on Saturday, February 19th, to be induced due to preeclampsia. We didn't actually start the pitocin until sometime after 4 pm. Later that night we found out that she was not head down but actually transverse (laying sideways). We attempted to schedule a c-section for that night but another operation was being done and it would be about 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning before we could begin so we decided to schedule it for 9:00 the next morning.
The next morning the doctor did an ultrasound and found she had turned head down so we decided to try the pitocin again. Later on that morning she turned breech and we proceeded with the c-section again. Shortly after Averie was born. :)

Just another update...
I realize that I haven't updated this in quite awhile. But honestly, not much is going on right now. The waiting game has begun for baby Averie and I am sick of waiting.
The middle of January was my baby shower. The biggest surprise of that day was that my grandma came up from Oregon and she is staying until sometime after Averie is born. I have been enjoying my time with her. A big thank you to everyone that came!
I had my 39 week check-up today.
How far along? 39 Weeks 2 days
Sleep: I get some sleep but I am still getting up constantly and it is hard to find a comfortable position. Poor Jason - he doesn't get a lot of room in the bed to sleep anymore.
Movement: Everyday and all the time.
Labor Signs: Irregular contractions and cramping.
What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy.
Doctor Appointment: 1-2 cm dilated and he was not able to strip my membranes or feel her head. Did a quick ultrasound to check her position and she is still head down. She just hasn't dropped yet. I have another appointment on Monday and if I haven't progressed any I am definitely going to be discussing the option of getting induced!
Jordyn tells me that Averie is going to be born on the 14th or 15th. Kenzie told me she will be born on the 18th. I would prefer this weekend but not on Valentine's Day. I guess we shall see who is closer. :)
