4 months

I meant to do this yesterday after Averie's doctor appointment but she wasn't feeling well last night thanks to those mean shots she had to get. Poor girl. :(

She seems to be feeling a little better today and she slept good last night.

Averie now weighs 13 lbs. 7 oz. and she is 26.5 inches long.

Weekend at Lake Louise

We went camping at Lake Louise over the weekend with my parents. It was the first time camping for Averie and Makenzie.

After driving for a few hours we finally got there around 7 pm on Friday night. We had to stop a couple of times for bathroom breaks and switching seats in the car. I started in the front but I quickly got moved to the back seat with Averie to keep her entertained and feed her.

We found a place to set up camp.

After dinner we made a fire and the girls made some smores with Granddad.

This was our view:

On Saturday my brother came to spend the day and the girls wanted to take the boat out to go fishing. While the guys got the boat ready I took some pictures of the girls.

Kenzie was not thrilled about having to wear a life jacket.

And of course some pictures of the guys:

Later that night we went back to the lake and did some fishing after dinner.

Here is a quick video of the girls:

Baby food, Flower Headbands and other news

Since I mentioned in my last post I was going to start making baby food soon I thought I would share some websites/blogs that I have found helpful.

I also found a tutorial on those cute flower headbands you see every little baby girl pictured in. I am going to make them for Averie, Jordyn and Makenzie. I will let you know how they turned out! I am excited to make them. Click HERE to view the tutorial.

Jordyn will be starting vision therapy this month. I did not know anything about it until I ran into Kera, an old friend from high school, and learned about vision therapy! Thank you. It's not talked about a lot and I am hoping it will help her improve her school work.

We are in the process of enrolling Kenzie in a home school program for Kindergarten. I have no problem teaching her and I am confident she will do great. At least this gives me the opportunity to teach her things I know she will not learn in public school.

Averie has her 4 month check up on the 23rd. I'll update everyone after the appointment. We are pretty sure she is teething. She is constantly biting her hands and toys, drooling and sometimes cranky. She is also fighting her naps. If she sleeps on me she will take a decent nap but once you put her down she is either awake instantly or within 20 minutes. I have had to make an area on my bed and lay with her a few times in order for her to sleep for a couple hours. I am going to guess that she weighs 12 lbs 12 oz. Not sure on length but depending on the brand she has outgrown some of her 6 month outfits already.
I still haven't moved her into her crib. She sleeps in the pack n play next to my side of the bed. I should work on that soon but honestly I'm not in a hurry! At least we are not co-sleeping!

Rice cereal

Averie has been taking rice cereal in her bottle for awhile now because of reflux issues. I decided to start slowly introducing eating rice cereal and oatmeal with a spoon. She does pretty good and doesn't push a lot of it out with her tongue. She seems to enjoy it. At the end of the month I will start making baby food and start introducing more foods to her.
